Working hours

Track your working hours, rate the strain, and export the record as a PDF.

Overview

You track working hours with a timer, manually, or automatically – events with a working-time category count too. You rate each time with a strain level and spot particularly demanding times.

How to find it

Working-hours tracking is hidden by default.

  1. Open the side menu and choose the gear icon at the bottom left (on macOS, the app settings).
  2. Tap Working hours and enable Show in side menu.
  3. In the side menu, select the Working hours area.

What you can do

  • Track time: Start a timer with a category, stop it with a strain rating.
  • Add an entry: Record times manually, including past or planned ones.
  • Track automatically: Count app usage as working time (can be turned off).
  • Evaluate: Choose a period and filters, view charts and the category distribution.
  • Review activities: Open the list of all entries, edit or delete them.
  • Export: Create a PDF report with period and filters.

What counts as working time

Four sources come together:

  • Timer: time between start and stop.
  • Manual entries: periods you entered yourself.
  • Automatic entries: active app usage, when enabled.
  • Events: calendar events you assigned a working-time category to.

When sources overlap, the time counts exactly once. Planned times only count once they have taken place.

How it is calculated

The reference distributes your annual working time (proportional to your part-time factor) evenly across the school weeks of the school year. Holiday weeks from the calendar count without a reference. The reference starts in the week of your first tracked time — backfilled times stay fair.

The evaluation always shows your performed time first. The comparison with the reference is neutral guidance, not a weekly quota.

Strain

Every entry carries a strain rating: Normal, Medium, or High. When you stop a timer, you pick it right away.

If you like, Bunt suggests a strain rating — for long days, evening work, or weekend work. A suggestion is only applied when you tap it. Configure the signals under Settings → Strain suggestion.

Categories

Categories organize your time: teaching, preparation and follow-up, grading, and further presets. You can create your own categories with a color and a default strain.

  • Skip on holidays: Planned events of this category don't count on holidays.
  • Times without a category appear as Other.

Settings

Under Settings in the toolbar you configure:

  • Annual working time and part-time factor for the reference.
  • School year start for the distribution across school weeks.
  • Automatic tracking with an idle timeout.
  • Name on report for the header of the PDF export.
