Yes, we do not collect user data and do not use any tracking. All data remains on your device. The optional iCloud sync runs through Apple's encrypted infrastructure.

Yes, Bunt supports synchronization via iCloud. To enable it, activate iCloud sync in the app settings. Important: Use the same security key on all devices. Please create a manual backup before enabling iCloud.
In the sidebar, you will find the Grading Scale button. There you can create custom scales based on different grading schemes (e.g. 1–6, 0–15 points, or custom systems). A grading scheme defines the possible grades (e.g. 1.0 to 6.0), while a grading scale maps percentages to grades. You can create as many scales as you need, and export or import them.
Yes, under Reports you can export grades, attendance, and other data as PDF. Timetable export as PDF and a full course book export are in development.
Bunt automatically creates a local backup each time you open the app (at least once per day). You can also create a manual backup. To restore: Save the backup file locally on the device (not in OneDrive or similar cloud services) and import it through the app. Make sure to use the same security key.
Duplicate courses occur when a backup is imported while iCloud sync is already active. Delete the duplicate courses manually in the app, or disable iCloud, import a clean backup, and then re-enable iCloud. Make sure iCloud stays active during the deletion process so that changes are synced.
Go to the settings and select your federal state. If holidays are not displayed, briefly select None and then re-select your state. Note that flexible school holidays are school-specific and do not appear automatically.
You can mark students as present, absent, or late. For late arrivals, you can specify the number of minutes. Additionally, you can create custom categories and checks (e.g. sports exemption), which will also appear in reports.
This indicates that an incorrect security key was used. The key must be identical on all devices. If you need to change the key, open the Keychain Access app on your Mac and remove the old Bunt entries. Then import your backup with the correct key.
The pedagogical grade allows you to manually adjust the calculated grade. You can set it to any value that differs from the automatically calculated grade. The pedagogical grade is then used as the final grade.
The seating plan lets you map out your class's seating arrangement. You can also use it for grading and attendance tracking by clicking on students in the seating plan.
Yes, Bunt supports a dark mode. Go to the settings and click the small moon icon at the bottom. There you can switch between light and dark mode.
